Personal Statement
As a freshman, I was inserted into the starting lineup the second game of the season and I remained the starter for the rest of the year. I worked very hard to gain my coaches’ s confidence that I could handle playing with upperclassmen and succeed. I struggled early in the season, more so than at any time in my entire baseball career. I continued to work hard and greatly improved my mental toughness to overcome the struggles I was having. The season ended with our team finishing runner up in our district and I was named to the All District Tournament team. I am most proud of the mental toughness I gained and overcoming adversity to eventually succeed.
My #1 goal as a baseball player is to not have any regrets. My worst fear is not accomplishing my goals because I didn’t work hard enough. I truly believe that if I am the best possible version of myself, I will have many opportunities to play baseball at the next level. I am looking for an opportunity that best fits my passion to play and to be a part of a true baseball family and program. Academics is also important to me as I believe one day, I will not be able to play any longer and I want to be prepared for that day when it happens.
