Personal Statement
I play 2B and SS. My sophomore year at Madison Central, I started in left field and at 2nd base for the varsity team. I also pitched and played short stop for some JV games. I was asked to participate in the Ky Sophomore East/West All-Star game where I played SS for 7 innings. As a freshman, I played short stop and pitched for the JV and Freshman teams. As an 8th grader, I played for my high school's freshman team as a 2nd baseman. In the summer, I play baseball for Bluegrass Xpress in Lexington, KY where I typically play either 2B or SS and pitcher as well as some outfield. During the summer, I've played throughout the midwest and southeast US. Most of the tournaments I've played in have been Dynamic, Pastime, and Perfect Game. This has allowed me to play against the best competition in the Midwest and Southeast. I was very happy with my summer. I was 2nd on the team in hitting average and on base percentage. But the thing I'm most proud of is that my coach, Kenny Gant, told me he wished he had 10 more players just like me. I work hard at my position and being a good teammate.
I work hard on and off the field to become a better baseball player, teammate, and student. I was a member of the Junior National Honor Society as a very active student athlete in middle school and am currently a member of the National Honor Society. I'm continuing to work hard academically in high school. I've learned that working hard does pay off. I spend time working out and running to get stronger and faster. When I'm not playing baseball, I enjoy boating with my family and playing golf with my friends. My favorite activity outside of baseball is fishing. I love to bass fish with my grandfather and striper fish with my dad. I spend a lot of time fishing in Lake Cumberland. I make my own fly and bass baits.
I've been playing baseball since I was 3 years old. At 10 years old, my all star baseball team from Lexington, KY, went to the 10 year old Cal Ripken World Series in Winchester, VA. My team ended up winning the World Series that year! When I was 12, my team went to the 12 year old Cal Ripken World Series in Aberdeen, MD. I got to meet Cal Ripken, Jr and meet kids from all over the world as well as play against teams from Australia, Canada, and all throughout the US.
I hope to continue to become a better baseball player and reach my ultimate goal of playing college baseball.
