Tyler Johnson '21 Recruiting Profile

I am a 5'11" catcher/1st baseman from Kenner, LA. I play for Brother Martin High School in New Orleans, LA. I am on the varsity team and last season we were the 5A district champions. During my high school career at Brother Martin, I have also played on junior varsity (2 years - 9th & 10th), 9th grade team (2 years - 8th & 9th), and the 8th grade team. I have played on a travel ball team since I was 8 years old and since starting high school I have played on several showcase teams and off-season teams. I have a 3.33 GPA and I have taken the ACT in December 2019 and obtained a score of 20. My goal is to continue to improve my GPA this year by working hard and seeking help from my school’s tutoring program during my off period.

It is my dream to play baseball at the next level. I have been preparing for this my whole life. I am not afraid to work hard and I know the importance of team before self. I am looking forward to taking on more of a leadership role as an upper class man.

I am looking for an institution where I can find the right balance between the classroom and the field. I would like to pursue a university with an outstanding academic reputation in the field of criminal justice. Ideally, my athletic environment would be one where I could make an immediate impact on the team. I prefer to stay within a few hours of home, but I am open to travel to find the right team fit at any level.
