I relocated to the US in 2022 after living in Tel Aviv, Israel for three years where my father was stationed for work. I played ball competitively in the US prior to moving to Israel, mostly playing catcher, first base, third base, or pitching. When we moved to Israel, I began playing with an Israeli team and was asked to join the Israeli national team for my age group and travel to Europe for competitions. Unfortunately, COVID hit, and we were unable to travel and play. Once restrictions were finally lifted, I was able to continue playing and played varsity my freshman year of high school at the American International School in Even Yehuda, Israel in 2022, mostly playing short stop, third base and pitcher.
Since returning to the US, I've played on a Five Star team out of Frederick Maryland as a utility player, playing mostly 2nd base or left field, and for an Annapolis club team as the starting catcher, but also serving as utility. This past summer, I played for the Annapolis club, serving as the starting catcher, and I hit third in the line-up. I'm playing for this team in the fall season as starting catcher and sometimes playing 2B, 1B, or LF. My batting average this fall is .558 and my SLG is .889. I just started my senior year at the Key School in Annapolis, where I will be playing my 3rd year of varsity ball for the Obezags. As a sophomore, I played mostly left field, and then earned the starting catcher position on the varsity team as a junior. I expect I'll remain as the starting catcher my senior year. I am a committed player who is willing to work hard and promote my team. I appreciate and love the game.
I also value academics and am a strong student. Key School is a college prep school, where all classes are considered to be preparatory, so our GPA scale only goes to 4.0. I also took dual enrollment courses this summer at Anne Arundel Community College. I bring a strong international background from my time overseas, and that experience has made me adaptable and flexible in most things in life. I can easily adjust to change. (I also lived in Cameroon in West Africa when I was younger.) In the future, I think I would like to either go into business or possibly medical or veterinary school. I also like international relations and enjoy understanding current events. I am well traveled internationally, get along well with people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures, and I enjoy learning foreign languages. I am also responsible and very mature for my age. I have served as the co-lead for my school's Climate Action committee, and this summer, I was selected through a highly competitive program for high school students to work at the National Aquarium in Baltimore.
I believe that my international background, strong academics, and love and dedication to baseball make me a good candidate for a team. I am coachable, respectful, and dedicated to the game, as well as being a strong student who gets along well with others. Any team can count on me to remain loyal to that team throughout my college career. Any coach can count on me to put in any required work, support my teammates, and pitch in to help my team however needed.
