Personal Statement
My name is Brett Tyler and I am currently a senior at Crisfield High School on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Having maintained a GPA of 4.04 for the past 4 years, I am committed to striving for success in both the classroom and on the field. I am currently taking 2 dual enrollment courses and have taken 3 AP courses maintaining a 4.4 GPA last year all while playing Varsity Soccer and Fall Showcase Baseball. Last year, I was inducted into the National Honor Society and selected to attend Boys State this past summer.
I have been a starting player for the Varsity baseball team during my Freshman, Sophomore and Junior years, playing various key positions that include short stop, center outfield, catcher and pitcher. My love for baseball comes from my grandfather who was invited to try-out for a semi-professional team while serving in the Army. My goal is to continue his dream of playing collegiate baseball.
Because of my pursuit of excellence, I strive to improve through individual and team training. In addition to playing on the Varsity Baseball and Soccer teams, I play on a summer and fall showcase baseball team and participate in velocity and strength programs throughout the winter months.
I am interested in pursuing any opportunities at all college divisions. Although my major is undeclared at this time, it is important that I receive a strong education while being able to pursue my dream of playing for a competitive collegiate team.
