I am a 6’3” rising senior and the starting varsity shortstop on Indian Creek Upper School in Crownsville, Maryland’s baseball team (Class of 2021). I began playing organized baseball at the age of five and have been a competitive travel baseball player on select and elite teams since the age of eleven, always playing up in my age division. My travel baseball experience began with Gambrills Athletic Club in Gambrills, Maryland, where I played during the 2014 and 2015 seasons. Our team won many competitive tournaments including the 2014 and 2015 Mid-Atlantic Baseball Association’s end of season tournaments, the Delaware Stinger, the Catonsville Classic, to name a few, and it was at this time when my passion for baseball took flight. In those two years, I practiced three to four hours a day, every day of the week, so I learned at a very young age how important it was to practice hard daily if I wanted to continue to improve my skills.
When I step onto the field, I am entirely centered and focused on the goal ahead of me...to compete with the best, be my best by being the best for my team, and to win! These attributes were recognized in both my freshman and sophomore high school years when I was awarded All-Conference Team two years in a row. In the 2018-2019 winter season, I played basketball at my school for cardiovascular conditioning and was awarded the “Most Outstanding Player” by the coaches and players. I am a firm believer that you can always improve, both on the diamond and in the classroom, as long as you are willing to put in the hard work, long hours and effort to achieve your goals. It has always been my dream to continue to play the sport I love at a competitive college level, where I will be able to make an immediate impact on the team. I am looking for an institution on the east coast where I can find the right balance between the classroom and the diamond. I want to pursue a university with an outstanding academic reputation in the field of architectural engineering or business. Financial assistance will be essential to me in the college selection process as my family will have a high need. However, I would be willing to travel farther to a school with less out of the pocket expense.
