Personal Statement

I have played baseball all my life and have always loved the sport. My strength as a pitcher is my ability to remain focused no matter what the situation is. I have a lot of movement on my pitches so I am able to get outs. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to play in the Cal Ripken World Series two years in a row and was chosen for the all World Series team. I have been working with 9-year MLB veteran pitcher Doug Creek for five years. I am willing to work hard year round for the sport that I love.
I have a 4.0 unweighted GPA and am ranked 4th in my class. I am striving to become valedictorian. I am looking for a challenging academic environment and a baseball team that I can contribute to.

  • I have been playing baseball since I was five. I have played at a select level since I was 10. I played in the Cal Ripken World Series when I was 11 and again when I was 12. I was player of the game each year and made the All World Series Team when I was 12. I have played under 9 different coaches in the last 7 years on various recreation, Select travel, All Star, Summer Legion, Fall Legion, High School, and Fall recreation teams. Doug Creek, a nine-year major league pitching veteran, is my pitching coach. I have been working with him for 3 years.
