Personal Statement

Hello, my name is Brian Doyle. I currently live in Reisterstown Maryland and attend Franklin High School. I am in 12th grade and am a 2 sport student/athlete, with my primary sport as baseball.
I have played and excelled in baseball since I was 5 years old. Coaches continue to pick me on advanced and travel teams. Some of my accomplishments include: being chosen as  “All Tournament: First Team” for the Cal Ripken Southeast Regional Tournament in 2009, playing in the Babe Ruth League World Series 2011 as a shortstop and pitcher and being chosen as Player of the Game in one of our games; receiving MVP for Franklin JV baseball 2012. I was also chosen to be a member of the 2015 MSABC Futures Team. The award in which I take most pride in was my sportsmanship award in 2005 Cal Ripken, because it shows that I’m a team player with a good attitude.
As a multi-sport athlete, I have excelled in other sports also. In basketball I have received 3 Point Shooter Award: JV 2012-2013, MVP and Scoring Title for most 3 pointers in Baltimore County: JV 2013-2014, and with my travel team I earned an All-Tournament Player Award. I also was an integral part of the 2014 Maryland 3A football championship team for Franklin High School. While I am seeking to go to college and play baseball, these other accomplishments show the versatility of my athletic abilities.
Moving states and changing schools in the beginning of my high school years have caused some challenges in my academics. Throughout this, I have still been able to maintain an academic average above what is needed to play on my schools’ teams.  One of my focuses now is to improve my GPA.  I am currently working hard at this and am taking an extracurricular class for my SATsAcademics are my new focus now that I have adjusted to a new school and proved my athletic abilities.
As a Christian athlete, I believe that my gifts and abilities have been given to me so that I can glorify God.  The way that this is accomplished is by playing hard, being a leader on and off the field, encouraging others to do their best and by having a good attitude in all that I do.
