As a young boy, I looked up to my father immensely and wanted to be like him. One of his great interests was baseball, and from that point on, I wanted to play baseball. I would throw, hit, and field with him in the backyard all the time. Eventually, when I was old enough to play T-Ball, I would get bored during the games. Over time, my strive to be like my father caused me to stick with it, and then when I was 7 in Little League, I discovered my talent for the game. Performing like I was, I began to slowly develop a passion for the game. Eventually, baseball became a part of my life. I would wear baseball hats all the time and spend countless days and hours a week at the Little League. This passion continues to grow as the game and myself get better over time. Through playing baseball, I have discovered my passion and drive for the game of baseball. I discovered that I am willing to go all out effort to attain the goal for the team and myself. During my freshman year obstacle where I did not play but was on varsity, I noticed my hate for not being able to contribute and help them team whenever possible after our loss to Potomac in the MAC playoffs. This experience caused me to no longer take the game for granted and continue to give all my effort in these type of situations. However, although I did not play, the four seniors displayed great leadership to the team and created an environment of doing what is best for the team, accepting your role, sacrificing yourself for the better of the team, and how to be a leader. These characteristics have increased my IQ as a baseball player, my concept as working as a team, and what it takes to be the leader of the team. Also, from my freshman year, I began to work harder to gain the starting role I strived for from the beginning of the season. As a result of my growth, my high school team and I continues to get better, and achieve things that my school has never previously done. This drive continues to make me work hard to advance my skill over my competition, and this drive has developed in my academics as well. My academic goals for high school is to continue to be on High Honors and if not increase at least maintain my 3.90 GPA. I hope to prepare myself for my interests by taking the classes that pertain to computers or engineering. In college, I plan to major in computer engineering or a similar major involving computers and maintain straight As. With these characteristics and my talent, I believe that I could make an impact on your college team, program, and school.
