Baseball runs in my veins. My dad played baseball, where he was an All-Star numerous times. He was an excellent pitcher and shortstop. He, unfortunately, hurt his arm during sophomore year, and was forced to quit. I plan to carry on my dad’s legacy
I’ve gone to baseball games every year. I am well versed in baseball statistics, and they fascinate me. I’ve played baseball since I was 5. Though I took a 2 year break for personal reasons, I returned to the game I love and was a starter on JV at FSB, eventually moving up to varsity.
Losing two years may seem discouraging to most; I find it an extra challenge. Though I may not be as advanced as some at my age level, I give it my all on every pitch.
I truly give my 110% in each and every game. I want to be better than the best that I can be. If I set a goal, I work my tail off to get to it.
For baseball, I am fast, have a good arm, and great range in the outfield. I an a bit rusty as I mentioned earlier, but I am determined to close the gap between me and the rest of my competitors.
With colleges, I’m more focused on going to a great academic school. I plan on being a data analyst, specifically a sports statistician. Good math programs are at the top of my priorities.
In terms of college baseball, I am indifferent towards what division I play in. I would get more playing time in DIII schools, but DI schools have rigorous training as well. As long as I’m happy, I’m willing to play anywhere and at any level
Position-wise, I can play anywhere except 1B and C. My strengths show in the outfield, as I am very fast, and have a strong arm that is accurate from long distances. I have the mentality of an infielder; I will go after every ball. As a 10th grader, my coach taught me how to pitch. I am very inexperienced with pitching, having only pitched for one season. I practice pitching frequently, and my overall pitching goal is to pitch on Varsity for the upcoming years.
I have many strengths, as well as a few weaknesses. I am very hardworking and dedicated, and will give my all to achieve a goal that I have set. I bring a positive attitude to every team, and am always the loudest on the bench. My biggest strength in my opinion is my desire to go above and beyond. I want to be the best I can be and better. I am, however, the only thing that is stopping me.
I get in my head frequently. I get down on myself if I make an error or throw a poor pitch. This is the primary goal in terms of that: to have short term memory.
All in all, I find myself to be a hard worker who is passionate for the sport. Even though I may be behind the curve a little bit, I am willing to do whatever it takes it catch up and exceed my competitors.
