Personal Statement

I aspire to be an engineer one day. I want to go to college to major in engineering and possibly minor in business. I started playing baseball at 4 years old; I've moved from t-ball to varsity high school baseball at Riverdale Baptist School. I love the game of baseball. As an African-American playing baseball has not always been the easiest thing for me. I have had to overcome ridicule and many questions about why I chose baseball instead of other sports. I work hard and put in work outside of scheduled practice times. I want to outwork everyone...more action and less talking. As a left hand player I can play multiple positions on the field. I am sometimes called on to play catcher and short stop because of my athleticism. I am about lifting my teammates up and calling them out when they're not working hard enough. I expect the same from my teammates when I am not giving 100%. I have had my struggles academically, but thankfully, with hard work and grit I am now on the upswing. I am committed to my academic and athletic success. I want to be great on and off the field.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
