Personal Statement

My Scuba diving skills allow me to see the world in a completely different way, through its diversity, symbiosis and beauty. This experience carries over into my athletic and academic experiences every day. As an Arlington High School sophomore, highlights have included playing varsity baseball when our team played in the semifinal game of the Massachusetts D2 State Championship, and when my summer team won the Dirt Dawgs Showcase Tournament on Cape Cod. My goals include being an important part of winning next year’s Middlesex League Championship. I plan to be the starting varsity catcher for my junior and senior years. I have also played two years of High School football, and I am hoping to compete on our varsity winter track team. Baseball is a very important part of my life and I have a developed an intense passion for the game. Through my sport, I have learned sportsmanship as well as respect for teammates, coaches, umpires, teachers and parents. My competitiveness and baseball IQ is off the charts, which gives me the best advantage to lead my team at the plate and from behind the plate.

Entering my junior year, I look forward to the challenges and rigor of taking AP and Honors courses including Biology, Chemistry, Pre-Calculus and Oceanography. I plan to excel in the upcoming SAT and ACT examinations. I would like to focus my studies of science and math in college and pursue a career in Biology, Biotechnology and Environmental Science, where I can be part of the solution to clean up our oceans and environment. Outside of school I enjoy fundraising for the American Cancer Society though “Relay for Life” programs and I like to volunteer with the Council on Aging. I'm looking for a college program that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically. I believe I not only have the baseball talent to compete for a college team, but the character, work-ethic and leadership skills to make an impact on your program. I welcome the process of finding the right team and college where I can grow and thrive.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
