Zachary Handfield: OF/2B, (2022) out of Auburn, MA. is a 5-foot-7, 135-pound infield prospect. At the plate, the right-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 83 MPH. He starts in a crouched, wide stance with relaxed hands just off the back shoulder. A short stride starts a swing that takes a flat path through the hitting zone. During his round, he showed a line drive approach and the ability to use the whole field. In the infield, Handfield was 68 MPH on his throws across the diamond. As he worked through the ground balls, he showed he had good feet, a clean exchange, and sure hands. From the outfield, he was 74 MPH on his throws to the plate. His defensive work showed he had rhythmic footwork, a clean exchange, and sure hands. In the 60-yard dash, he recorded a time of 7.1.

Hanfield is a 5-foot-7, 125-pound right-handed-hitting infield prospect. He hits out of a tall, even stance with the hands set low. The stride is short and allowed him to stack the weight over the back leg, with the hands in a good launch position. The swing path is flat and produced a max exit velocity of 70.7 MPH on balls sprayed center to left during the batting practice. He also ran a 7.62 second sixty. Defensively, Hanfield was 69 MPH on his throws across the diamond. The feet moved well as he worked to get into a fundamental fielding position. The hands were soft as he transitioned through the ground ball and into the throwing position. He created a direct line with the target and used a short arm swing to finish the play. On the mound, Hanfield used a simple, controlled delivery to work down the mound. He was balanced with good direction, allowing the higher arm slot to produce a fastball that sits 68-70 MPH, with some arm side run. The breaking ball was 61-63 MPH with correct spin. The change-up looks to be a work in progress and showed a velocity of 67 MPH.
