Personal Statement
My coaches tell me I have a great attitude, focus and am very coachable.
It was my goal to make varsity sophomore year of high school. I reached that goal and have been a varsity starter since sophomore year when I was one of two sophomore starters. In my junior year I batted first or third in the line-up every game. I played every inning of every game starting in center field and my team made it to the quarter finals.
My senior year I batted .471 with 6 doubles and a triple, hit in 17/18 games, had a 14-game hitting streak until the season ended, and got on base in every game. I was perfect in the field, playing every inning of every game in centerfield for the last two seasons.
I was team captain and attended team leader meetings at my school.
My strengths in the outfield are that I attack the ball aggressively, track fly balls well and take a good route to the ball, which helps me make plays consistently. I like center field because it puts me in charge of the action. I communicate well with my teammates on plays and positioning. I adjust to location of pitches based on the count and the timing of the hitter’s swing and make sure my teammates in the outfield are aware of this too.
I am committed to my team and support my teammates. I am always one of the first out of the dugout to congratulate my teammates or lift them up if they make a mistake because we are a team. If one person falls behind, so does the team.
Some ways I take charge are by organizing captain’s practices for our team to get us working together before the season starts. I get in extra practices whenever I can with my teammates and often my dad. We have a routine of heading to the high school field for BP and outfield practice whenever we can.
In October 2018 I was selected for and played in the All-Star Game of the Fall Varsity High School Baseball League. In August 2018 I made the High School All-Star list for Hampshire County, Honorable Mention from the Daily Hampshire Gazette.
In 2017, my summer travel team won the regional championship. I was a starter and played every inning of every game. I played fall ball and was one of three players on my team selected for the all-star game. I am playing in tournaments this summer with my travel team.
I work hard on and off the field. Academics are important to me. I am an honors student and I recently earned a Pro Merito Award for having an average throughout high school of above 90. I have a 3.7 GPA and take honors and AP classes.
My athletic goal is to play as a freshman. I am motivated to keep improving on and off the field.

I have gotten to know Chase Kupinsky as both a player and friend these past couple years for the Belchertown Orioles baseball program. He has exemplified quiet leadership capabilities and has made an enormous impact both on and off the field. He has a 3.7 GPA, been on the honor roll every semester, and has been a starter on the varsity program since his sophomore season. His coach-ability, attention to detail, and his natural ability allow him to excel in the sport he truly loves. He is constantly working hard everyday to get better and has hit over .340 in the past two seasons as our starting center fielder. Not only is he productive offensively as a starter for 39 games for the Orioles, he has only committed one error defensively. He puts himself in a good position by shifting with the count and tracks the baseball very well off the bat, not to mention his strong arm and the ability to hit cutoffs consistently. In conclusion, I believe Chase would be a welcomed addition to any college program because of his character and understand you are getting the epitome of a student athlete.
