Personal Statement

My collegiate goals are to attend a four-year college/university to study homeland security and continue to play competitive baseball at the highest level possible. I am on an Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) at school and realize that I must work hard daily toward my academics, so I can attend a good college and be successful.  I believe my strong work ethic contributes to my past and present athletic achievements and future goals I set for myself.  Also, I'm an excellent candidate for any highly-competitive baseball team, because I am a consistent infielder (third baseman/pitcher) with natural instincts and skills.  I have the drive and determination to work my hardest to be an important contributor to a college/university baseball team.  Also, I am a player who always encourages and supports my teammates to do and be their best. I would characterize myself as a dedicated, driven, resilient, and confident infielder/pitcher who has a lot to offer any college baseball team.

  • Notes from the PBR Showcase Staff: 6-foot-3, 155-pound projectable frame. The long armed right-hander has a slow tempo delivery with minimal effort and lands slightly closed. From an easy, high-¾ slot he showed good command of his fastball at 76-78 mph with arm-side run. His breaking ball at 63-65 mph had good 11/5 tilt with command. Tendency to slow down on his changeup at 66 mph with occasional sink. From third base he shows above average range and a clean exchange. From an easy, high-¾ slot he shows 70 mph arm strength across the diamond. Right-handed hitter that stands tall and starts his hands away from his body. Uses a leg kick and the swing is a little and gets in and out of the zone. Registered 80 mph exit velocity and ran 7.58-60.

  • This is what was written about Michael by the PBR staff: Michael showed very well for himself. He is already 6- foot-3 but only 150 pounds. His delivery is clean and his posture is outstanding. His arm works nicely and is free. He was 78-80 with a breaking pitch at 68, that was slurvy. His change up needs a tweaking but he has innings to get to clean that up. He showed a quick move to home at 1.03. I like this prospect. Video is available on PBR+ website. He was also named the top pitching prospect for the class of 2017. He also was in the top 4 in pitching velocity for the entire showcase.
