Personal Statement
I am a Freshman student in the Class of 2019 at the Middlesex School in Concord, MA. Middlesex School is a co-educational, non-sectarian, day and boarding independent secondary school for grades 9-12. There are roughly 375 students at the school and it is a part of the prestigious Independent School League. I am a student athlete with Baseball as my favorite sport but academics come first. I made the Honor Roll my first semester at the school. I played soccer this past Fall (2015) and Squash this past Winter and am now playing Varsity Baseball this Spring. Many great student athletes have graduated from ISL member schools including Tyler Beede from Lawrence Academy (Vanderbilt/ San Francisco Giants, Andrew Chin from BB&N (Boston College/New York Yankees) and recently Rhett Wiseman from BB&N (Vanderbilt/Washington Nationals). Another great baseball player from the ISL attended my school, Governor Bill Richardson from Middlesex School (Tufts University) went on to a very successful career in politics culminating with a run for the Office of President in 2008. Ultimately, my grades and test scores will determine the college that I will attend but the strong academic reputation my school has attained will help my cause. I have learned through adversity growing up and I like when I am underestimated, it fuels me to succeed. I was chosen to attend my school with long odds, over 1200 applications for 100 spots. I was chosen and now I am putting in the hard work in the classroom and on the field to become part of a great college and baseball program in my future.
