Playing at a small school has given me unique opportunities. Due to the small size of our program, I've been able to practice with the varsity team since seventh grade, and start playing in varsity games in my freshman year. I've gotten to know all the older players well in and outside of school, and it helped me mature quickly and become a captain in my junior year, and now again in my senior year.
Playing with the varsity team for so long has also progressed my game, leading me to bat leadoff in my sophomore and junior years, and become a league all-star in my junior year. Being put in high pressure situations where from early in high school every at-bat matters made me aggressive at the plate, jumping on the pitcher early and producing results. I hope to bring all this to the college level, continue to get on base and be a leader to my teammates.
