Personal Statement

There are many goals I have not one specific but I know what I would like to work for.

My number one is sports for I work hard and don't give up. Baseball came into my life hanging out at the field with my older brother and started playing when I was six. Johnny Bench is one of my mentors and had an opportunity to meet him briefly when I was little. Mr. Bench said "if you want it you have to work for it. Work hard always" Those words have worked into my efforts with school and sports. As not the smartest or weakest student my average of a B/B+ has been consistent. I am a very outgoing person, will tell you things straight to your face and have thick skin.

Integrity. Coaches in both baseball and football have mentioned to me "doing something good when someone isn't looking” and that comment has tried to make me a better person on and off the field in all sports. When and if a coach yells at me for messing up those words and plays over in my head and make the next play as error free as possible. Should there be any issues with the play or coach, I will ask him off to the side, wait till the end of a game or practice. Travel coaches and coaches whom have seen me at tryouts always ask "are you a catcher or are you a catcher catcher”? My response is I am a catcher catcher and you will see for yourself if you do not believe me. Should I see someone better or beating me I will work harder. I’m competitive as it’s in my nature both in the positions I play and mentality of a sport. Catchers are hard to come by, I’ve seen this even if this is true or not all I do is work for my goal.

I’ve grown up with a family of discipline, criticism and have an older brother is in the US Army National Guard. Many of my peers see me as a “big/large” kid for my age, but not one of those peers see me as a push over, lazy or boring for I’m always playing sports. I am very protective of my family and a few of my few friends. Another important thing also is when catching I watch pitchers and batters for their weaknesses and strengths. My peers and coaches have always been impressed on how I can remember or call a game with the pitches. I don't have many friends, because of previous experiences, but will continue to be social. Either you like me or you do not.

My character is like I said outgoing and very big. These are many reasons why I think I am a good candidate for your team.
