Matthew Fiore '19 Recruiting Profile

Since I was 5 years old, baseball has been my passion. It seems like I have been playing since I was in the womb.

My parents have taught me the value of hardwork and perseverance. They taught me to never argue with an umpire, no matter how bad of a call is made.

Baseball is a year round sport for me. Whether it be March or December,  I always put in the extra work. I have been fortunate to work out year round with Coach Dana D’agostino and Coach Joe Marchesi.  Over the last 9 years, Dana and Joe have helped me to hone my pitching, hitting and fielding skills.  

My High School Coach John O’Brien has had a huge impact on my life.  He always encourages us to be the best that we can be. He’s taught me that to be successful, you must be committed year round.  Coach always tells us to be flexible, remain positive and to maintain a balanced life.  Under his leadership, I have played every position on the field with the exception of catcher.  Understanding all of this, my teammate Jonathan Luders and I are usually the first players at practice and the last to go home.  

My teammates elected me captain for the 2019 season. It is an honor to lead this group of talented and humble young men.

While in high school, I have been able to balance my school work, sports and employment. I have maintained good grades while playing baseball, football, and working. 

If fortunate enough to play on your team, I will always do what’s best for the team first. I pledge to always be respectful and positive. Lastly, I will do whatever the coaches tell me to make me a better player and teammate.
