Personal Statement
My goal is to play baseball at the collegiate level and attend a school that also challenges me academically. I intend to study biology in college, but want to find a program where I can balance baseball with one of the hard sciences.
I attend Milton Academy in Milton, Massachusetts. Milton Academy is a rigorous prep school just south of Boston and prides itself in it's ability to prepare kids for the next level of college academics. Going into my senior year at Milton, I have played two years of Varsity Baseball, three years of Varsity Football, and played one year of JV Ice Hockey my freshman year. Playing three different sports, has taught me the importance of teamwork while also helping me develop into a more versatile athlete. Although my profile says I am a pitcher and middle infielder, I am comfortable playing just about any position on the field.
I remind myself when pitching that I must take the game one batter at a time. My strength is my ability to focus on my next pitch, not think further ahead in the game or what happened in past innings, but solely focus on what I can do to beat the batter standing in front of me. This mantra, not only in baseball but in life, allows me to work consistently with success through adversity.
