Personal Statement
Ever since I was young, I have loved the game of baseball. Every time I step on the field, I find opportunities to further develop my skills and knowledge of the game. While I have been a successful infield player, my love of pitching has grown in the past four years. I consider myself a team leader and respect my coaches. I was elected by my teammates to be captain for the 2023 Salem Witches Baseball season. We had an incredible turnaround season going from 1-17 in 2022 to 16-5 (11-2 in conference) and making it to the state playoffs for the first time in many years. I was nominated by the Salem News as a 2023 Baseball All-Star and received honorable mention as an NEC Conference All-Star. This year, my command of the off-speed, curve, and change up led to the 10 ten in the NorthShore for # of wins (5), earned run average (2.17), strikeouts (50), and innings pitched (48.5). I am looking forward to continuing to work on my velocity over the next year and excited to see what the 2024 Salem Witches season brings.
In addition to baseball, I play varsity basketball and golf. Academically, I excel in math and plan to focus on Business Administration with a concentration in Finance in college. I have the opportunity to observe and participate in the beginning of my family's start-up Landscape business this past summer which has only furthered my interest in this field. During my senior year, I will be taking several college classes at Salem State University as part of the Early College Program.
I am looking forward to playing college baseball with a team that has a winning mindset, trains to the fullest, and has encouraging teammates that always push one another to be their best on and off the field. I promise to bring my focus, passion, and positive attitude to any team I join.
