Personal Statement
Baseball has been a big part of my life. I first picked up a ball and bat when I was 2 or 3 years old. So playing ball at the next level has always been a dream of mine. I want to be able to contribute to a team anyway I can. I learned that I don’t need to be starting every game or in the top of the lineup to make an impact on the team. I learned this my junior year. I wasn’t in starting every game or at the top of the lineup like I had been in years past. I struggled with accepting my role at first because it was something I wasn’t used to. I learned to accept this after I realized that it was helping the team win. I think this helped me grow as a player. I understand now that if it’s helping the team win, I shouldn’t be upset with my role if it’s not as big as others. It helped me become a better teammate.
