Personal Statement
Baseball has always been a constant in my life. I can't imagine attending college without it. My collegiate dream is to be part of a team where I can foster my love for the game even more. I would be an asset for your team because I know what it means to overcome. I was diagnosed at age 12 with Crohn's disease. I used to be the smallest and the weakest kid before my diagnosis and while I was trying to get it under control. After my diagnosis I was finally able to take ahold of my health and overcome. I got my diet under control and I finally grew. I started weight lifting and I became strong. I moved between my Freshman and Sophomore year and had to reestablish a name for myself. Even with all of these changes, baseball has kept me positive and kept me focused on my dreams. I know what it means to work hard to achieve what I want. I have worked hard to get where I am and I have the desire to keep working. I am the ultimate team player and know what it means to help pick up the rest of the team both on and off the field. I've taken my academics to the next level by tackling my first 6 college classes as a Senior in high school. I feel like I have overcome and succeeded in so much, that I am ready to succeed at the next level with baseball.
