October 2019Personal Statement
Played on the Cal Ripken league Alexandria Aces Summer 2019. I felt it was a great learning experience under Coach Berset and the rest of his staff. I’ve committed to Lansing Community College for my Sophomore year with a full tuition athletic scholarship. During my freshman year I earned a 3.4 GPA. Being a “late bloomer”, I’ve decided that LCC offers me another year to develop physically and my pitching skills with the ultimate goal of transferring to play at D1 NCAA school

- Recruiting Coor. and Pitching Coach Gordon Theisen, evaluated my in-game pitching on 3 different occasions including this top prospect Camp. He really liked my arm slot, command, and good movement on my fast ball, curve ball, change up. He advised that the most important improvement would be in fastball velocity to the mid to high 80's. He felt this was achievable with the aggressive weight training program I'm doing during this off-season. With this being said, he felt I could be very successful at the DII level and wanted to make me an offer. This offer decision had to be delayed to the spring recruiting period because Hillsdale has stringent academic requirements for both athletic and academics (1280 composite for athletics and 1310 for academic scholarships). Currently, I am studying to re-take my SAT in December, 2017 to increase my score from 1210 (April, 2017 test date).

- Started first game. Threw 112 pitches and won 6-0. Had 12 strikeouts and gave up two hits. Second game came in for a lefty lefty match up late in game. Stuck batter out on 3 pitches. Next game had a rest. Last game came in when it was tied 4-4. We were winning 4-0, but our starting pitcher lost feel for the ball. The other team began talking to our dugout. I begged my coach to be put in the game. I went in and struck out 7 of the 9 batters I faced, but lost 5-4 on an error.

- I pitched in 2 games. The first game against Dayton Classic Carolina I had a shut-out , 3-0 and gave up 3 hits in 7 innings. I pitched against the Midland Redskins (eventually lost in the Championship final to Razorbacks) the second game and had 5 strike-outs and gave up 3 hits in 5 and 2/3 innings. We lost 4-0 in a no-hitter by their pitcher.
