Personal Statement
My name is Scott Crawford and I am from Grand Blanc, Michigan. Being up in the northern part of the country and playing baseball may be tough for some athletes, but I think of it as an advantage. During the off season, while the blistering winter weather keeps baseball players inside, I work on the physical aspects of my game. I do a variety of workouts and build muscle to help improve my game. I work on a variety of drills and work with coaches and trainers to improve. I also work on the mental aspect of my game by studying the way others play and work on including these strategies into my workouts and training. These, I feel, sharpen my game where many other athletes may not have that in their arsenal.
I take my academics very seriously because I am a student-athlete and academics come first. Throughout the year, I am actively involved in volunteering in a variety of situations to help people with mental impairments, mainly with Special Olympics. I especially like helping so athletes learn to play baseball.
Baseball is my passion and is something that I dream of continuing on to the next level. It is something that I am constantly working extremely hard at, as earning my degree and play baseball at the same time would be a dream come true.
