Personal Statement
My goal is to further my education and athletic career at a Division I or II college. I'm a disciplined student-athlete and pride myself on my work ethic and coachability.
From an educational goals perspective, I would like to finish high school with a minimum GPA of 3.9 and to hold at least a 3.5 GPA in college.
I've been playing sports since I was 4 years old and have been playing baseball since I was 6 years old. I was fortunate enough to have coaches early in my baseball career who loved the sport and shared their passion of baseball with me. In addition to my youth coaches, my parents have influenced me tremendously. Both of them were Division I athletes themselves and have instilled in me much of what they learned along the way in their athletic careers, especially coachability and work ethic both in the classroom and on the field. One thing I've learned about myself through playing baseball is that I have a strong desire to compete at the highest level possible. I've also learned that baseball is a sport that requires high levels of mental toughness and focus. It's this skill, specifically, that has made me a better all around athlete and contributed to my academic success as well.
Being a multi-sport athlete has given me many diverse opportunities to better myself as a well rounded student-athlete. In all of these sports, I've learned the value of teamwork, commitment and leadership. I dedicate time and effort to improving in these areas just as much as I work to improve my overall baseball talent. Whether it's reading articles on athlete development or talking with my parents and coaches about their athletic knowledge and experiences, I'm always trying to be better - as a person and an athlete. It's these efforts away from the field that I feel make me standout against my peers.
