Personal Statement

My name is Blake Thomas I graduate in 2022. I am a 1st baseman and I often DH and can play RF also. My goal is to continue to play baseball after high school. I believe I can be a competitive member of a team and have the skills and abilities to compete at the next level. 

I am a 3 sport athlete competing at a high level in all of them. I am a college recruit in swimming for the breast stroke and also have been solicited in football. I mention this to show that I am well versed and that my physical abilities are not just tuned for baseball. Baseball is my true love. I work/train all year to stay in sync with baseball. I also work all year in the weight room.  Academically I work diligently and have a 3.83 GPA.  

My goal for baseball after high school is to be part of a team where I can contribute to its success both on and off the field. I am someone who believes in the program, its people and the community. I work with all levels of sports in our area helping to develop young players and build their self-confidence. I am a leader and I follow depending on the need of the situation. My respect for everyone helps me to see which is needed.

I’m going to go to college for Construction Management and that is guiding me as I work for the opportunity to keep playing baseball. I know that my career will be my future and my hope is that while I pursue my education I can have a few more years with the sun on my back going to battle with my teammates.
