Personal Statement
My aspirations are to play college baseball as a pitcher. I have worked and trained to be a pitcher since I was 8 years old by playing Little League, attending summer camps, clinics, playing on several different travel teams, attending open gym, and participating in several private lessons to make me a better pitcher. I have dreamed of this opportunity my whole life. I would be a good candidate for any team because I eat, breath, and live baseball. It is the greatest sport ever. I also can contribute a lot to the team by my work ethic. I am extremely coachable, a leader, hard worker, and competitive. The idea of being on a team is very important to me. They are my family, and this has defined who I am as a person. I want this relationship to continue in college. I feel like I am different from others because I love to handle pressure and have been put in several sticky situations on the mound. This is what makes me. thrive and sets me apart from others. I have a calm, competitive, mental toughness that my coaches depend on. The most important attribute I have as a pitcher and an athlete is to represent myself, my team, and my school in a positive way. Sportsmanship is more important than wins or losses. One of my favorite quotes is, "Let your attitude dictate your play, not your play dictate your attitude. This is absolutely important when I step on the mound as a pitcher. These work ethics have carried over into to the classroom. My academics are more important than playing baseball and currently I have a 3.5 G.P.A. Sports have helped me work hard in the classroom and learn to persevere. I would welcome the chance to continue this in college both in the classroom and on the mound.
