Personal Statement
I have been playing competitive travel baseball since I was eight years old. Even as a young eight year old, I have always aspired to play baseball at the collegiate level. I realize that playing in college is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I am determined to achieve my goal. Even though I play varsity football, I am always working to improve my baseball skills as well as training to get bigger, faster and stronger. I am a team leader who leads by example while being a supportive and encouraging teammate. I am very coachable and it always my goal to be one of the hardest working players on every team that I play for. In the classroom, I study hard and have developed a strong, organized work ethic in a very rigorous academic high school. When I am not on a baseball diamond or in school, I enjoy volunteering. I help coach young local boys at baseball camps. I also spend time umpiring throughout the summer in the local recreational leagues and volunteer at the St. Gerard Catholic youth camps.
I want to attend a college where I can be successful both in the classroom and on the baseball field. I believe that I not only have the talent to compete on a college team but the character, work ethic and leadership to be an immediate impact on the team. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match.
