Personal Statement
I have been playing baseball for about 11 years. I knew I wanted to play baseball when at those professional baseball games, they let the kids run the bases. It wasn’t just running the bases to me, it was a competition, and I thrive on competition. At that point I fell in love with the game!
Improving my skills is only one of the many goals I aspire to as a baseball player. I have learned to have great location with all pitches that I throw and am working hard to improve the velocity behind my pitches. I pride myself in having a great baseball IQ. I am a team leader and try to lead by example while also encouraging my teammates. I am a very coachable person and strive to be the best leader and player I can be on any team I play on
Off the field, I am learning how important school is to be able to play a college sport, so I am turning my school around for the better - studying more, getting better grades, and doing my homework more consistently. During the late winter and early spring, I volunteer as a coach for younger kids trying to improve their skills from ages 6-12. I love kids who try and improve their game without hesitation.
I want to attend a college that is the right fit for me academically and athletically and am open to all options. I want to challenge myself on the field and in the classroom. I hope to make my parents proud and be a great role model for young ball players in my city.
