My name is Steven Bauman and I live in St. Charles, Michigan. I currently attend St. Charles High School as a senior. I have been a starter on the varsity baseball team since freshman year. After playing shortstop and third base for the first two and a half years, I changed my primary position to catcher due to encouragement from Texas Rangers scout, . I am also versatile and can be used as a utility player. I am easy to work with, love the game of baseball, and I strive to succeed. I like to set goals for myself so I have a benchmark to reach. If I go 2 for 4 one game, I want to go 3 for 4 the next game. I would preferably like to get into a D-2 for college ball, but I am willing to attend a place where I will receive a good amount of playing time and a place that has a good baseball program. I do not care what kind of environment I play in, as long as I'm going somewhere with my future. My height is 5'8", and I weight 165 LB. I currently have a sore knee and run a 7.2, 60 yard dash. This is my third complete year on varsity and I have played Connie Mac for three years; I also play fall ball in Saginaw County. I work hard at Baseball, I practice just about every day, and do exercises involved with baseball. I am always the first one on and off the field, and I push myself to my potential. Playing college baseball is one of my first goals to accomplish after high school. A place that I would want to go to college is anywhere that has a good baseball program; Geographical regions would not concern me. I am willing to play at any division or level as long as I can help my team to win as many games as possible. We do have financial problems due to the fact that my mother is an only parent and I lost my dad in a motorcycle accident a few years ago. It would help tremendously if I were offered a scholarship. My realistic athletic goals are to play as a freshman in college. It would be an honor to go right out of high school and play at well structured college that really puts effort in making better players. I would like to play at the highest competition level possible. Making an impact on a team would be great. I like to have fun, especially on the baseball field, but academics and grades come first.
