My name is Alex Batka, a 17-year-old SS/Mif/Utility player from Spring Lake High School, Michigan. Standing 6’ tall and weighing 185 lbs, I bring a relentless competitive spirit, exceptional athleticism, and a deep passion for baseball to the field every day.
I’m more than just a player—I’m a competitor. For me, every pitch, every play, every game is a chance to grow stronger and outwork the competition. I don’t quit—ever. My commitment to personal development includes studying mental performance expert Brian Cain, which has sharpened my mental toughness and helped me turn setbacks into opportunities for growth.
Athletic Profile:
• Speed and Power: Member of the elite 20 MPH club, clocking 22 MPH top speed. Laser-timed 60-yard dash: 6.76 seconds. Squat: 285 lbs.
• Game IQ & Versatility: High baseball IQ with strong field awareness. As a shortstop, I possess exceptional range, soft hands, and above-average arm strength. At the plate, I’m a high-contact hitter with great base-running instincts. I'm often used at 2nd, 3rd and many times you can fid me flying around the outfield if their is a team need. I possess the physical and mental faculties to be a successful player at any position if my team needs me.
• Multisport Experience: Varsity starter in both baseball and football, with additional experience as a varsity wrestler. These sports have enhanced my mental and physical resilience, honed my agility, and taught me the importance of teamwork and leadership.
Work Ethic:
After high school practices, I train 4-5 days a week at the gym, constantly striving to unlock my next level of performance. My focus is on speed, agility, and strength—traits that translate directly to my performance on the field. Each Sunday I train with Coach Jeff Lindsey to build my exit velo and develop my plate approach. Sunday nights I spend the evening as a Team Captain on my travel team practicing for several hours to get ready for spring Varsity and Summer travel games.
Personal Values:
I thrive in environments where high expectations are the norm. I’m looking for a program that demands 120% effort, fosters growth, and builds winning teams. Off the field, I hold myself to the same standard of excellence, knowing that my actions reflect my coaches, my team, and my school. I would like a program that takes the time to teach me how to be more exceptional in baseball and in life every day.
Academic Goals:
In college, I plan to major in health sciences to prepare for a career in sports medicine. My goal is to combine my academic pursuits with my commitment to contributing as a dynamic player and leader on your team.
