My name is Lucas Malinowski. I currently attend De La Salle Collegiate High School in Warren, Michigan. I am a three-sport athlete participating in baseball, football and wrestling. I've been playing at a high level of competition for eight years, and baseball is my passion. My dream is to play at the next level and play baseball in college. My greatest attributes are that I am a well-rounded athlete I can play any position that I am needed to play to help my team. I consider myself to be a student of the greatest game "Baseball". I'm a very coachable athlete and I often volunteer some of my time to the local challenger league to help physically challenged athletes. I am very thankful for where I am today and I owe it all to my parents and coaches. I'm in my senior season of High School baseball. In my freshman baseball season, I helped our team win our Catholic League Central Division. I look forward to discussing my future at the Collegiate level. Thank you for showing interest in me. - 09/04/2020 - HS All-Region Tournament Lucas continues to shine on the diamond. At the plate, he shows a tall, open setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity with wood ) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At SS, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 85mph. Fastball shows good arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with tight spin. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight sink. Control is well above average as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

- 2/09/19 Fielding: Receives the ball behind the plate with one hand, moves the throwing hand to the glove during the exchange throwing from a high 3/4 arm angle down to 2B. 2.27-2.34 Pop times on the day. In the infield ranged well to both the glove and open hand side taking a step and throwing with some effort across the diamond 78 mph. Swing: Sets up with a crouched stance with his hands towards the middle of his body. Has a circular hand load while lifting his front leg and swinging with two hands. 79 mph exit velocity. Mechanics: Takes a nice size step to the left moving his pivot foot to the middle of the mound using a slight pause at the balance point and throwing from a high 3/4 arm angle. Fastball: Explodes out the hand while commanding the zone, more gas in the tank 77-79 mph. Curve: 12/6 action with late bite on the curve 66-67 mph. Change up: Fading action the change up that was low in the zone 69-71 mph.

- 09/22/2019 - College PREP - Beverly Hills (Detroit), MI Lucas is a tall, lanky SS who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is solid as indicated by his 60 time of 7.36. At SS, defensive abilities are solid as he displays clean / athletic actions. Feet are active as he as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Glove actions is soft / sure and presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy and carry (81 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, he continues to shine through a tall, athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a solid line drive approach. With 2 years to further develop, Lucas has a lot of potential with time and room to progress his game.
