Personal Statement
Baseball has always been a huge part of my life. I have been in baseball since I can remember. As a little kid I was always a step ahead of the kids my age, which lead to me playing up an age group. I learned how to adjust to faster pitching as well as handling bigger and faster kids. My 8th grade year was an exciting year for me as I was gaining some Varsity experience behind the plate, while still developing further at the JV level. Playing both JV and Varsity was important, because I got some Varsity experience while still maintaining chemistry with my teammates and friends on JV. The summer going into 9th grade I moved from a small town in Iowa to a town of 5,000 in Minnesota. Since it was my first year of High School, I was definitely nervous, but quickly found a good friend group and life went on great. When baseball came around, I was a bit nervous. I didn't want to make myself look bad in front of all my friends so I put in work in the off season to ensure I was in condition to perform. As the season got started, I began with the JV team and got hot early. As the season went on I began to get more and more Varsity reps, and ended up becoming the full-time Varsity catcher. The season didn't end the way we wanted it to, so the team put in some work and during the summer we ended with 1 loss in Legion. After winning in the first round, we suffered a heartbreaking loss to finish the season 11-1.
This coming season I plan to perfect my game behind the plate, develop upon other positions as well as maintain a 3.25 GPA. My goals for the upcoming season would be Sub-Section Champs, and making a push to go to State, and I %100 believe we can do it. This years team has so much chemistry and a very high drive for success.
