Personal Statement
My name is Cameron Powell, people tend to describe me as the kid who never runs out of energy. On the baseball field, and in many other activities, coaches, parents, and other players always say that I've got the biggest heart for the game. If I were to describe myself, I'd say that I love competing, that I'm always trying to compete, get better, and grow as a player and individual. I am a 5 foot 10 inches (5'10), 155lbs Right-handed pitcher, and second basemen that traditionally bats at the top of the lineup. As a kid who loves to play baseball, I'm ready to take the next step in my career and start looking for schools to play at for my collegiate career. It has been a dream of mine since I was little to play collegiate baseball. As I've gotten older, I've begun to realize that location isn't a large factor for me when looking at which schools I want to attend, but that doesn't mean I'm willing to sacrifice my education to play baseball. I'd love to play baseball in college but school and education are very important to me, I feel as if the values that I have for myself translate onto the field as well. When I'm on a baseball team, I'm always giving 100% effort, even if that's at practice, in warmups, during a game, or post-game. I am always focused, locked in, and ready to compete. When going into college, if I'm blessed enough to play collegiate baseball, I have personal goals and things I'd like to accomplish. These would include competing at the highest level of competition I can, being the best I can be, and improving every day. As of now I keep a "never be satisfied" mentality, and that is the attitude I would take into college baseball.
