Personal Statement
To my Future Coach: I LOVE TO COMPETE! Ever since I played on my first little league baseball team, I played to win and could not stand to lose. I have since learned to lose gracefully but still want to win at everything that I do. I currently play any and all sports that I can including Football & Basketball during the off season of baseball. I even ran in track throughout middle school competing in Pole Vault, triple Jump and sprints. I also love to play golf with my dad and grandpa every chance that I get. I feel by staying active in these other sports it gives me a competitive edge over my competition who might only play one sport. My parents have always preached to me about the importance of goal setting and writing my goals down. One of the goals that I have always had is to play baseball at the D1 level. I truly believe that with my work ethic, my commitment and my drive to succeed this goal will be achieved.
My two favorite Quotes that my father has pounded into my head since I was a little kid:
"Hard Work Beats talent when talent doesn't work hard!"
I think of this quote every time I want to relax or not put in the extra time. This is why I practice how I want to play come game time.
the second quote,
"Whether you think you can, or think you can't your probably right" This is why I always strive to have a positive mental attitude and keep negative thoughts out of my head.
I do know that what ever coach and college I am lucky enough to play at some day will not be disappointed that they chose me to be apart of their program.
To all the other Coaches that I will be playing against- Consider this my apology! :)
