My name is Dustin Houart, and I am from Holcomb, Missouri. I am a Senior at Holcomb High and a 5’10”, 165 lb. second baseman, shortstop and third baseman. I pitch and hit right. My curve ball and off speed pitches helped pave the way to the 2A State Championship playoffs this past Spring. Our 2013 Fall season was very successful, and we won the Fall Conference Championship.
My team is from a small town, but I played on competitive travel teams in our Tri-State area for the past six summers. I also had the privilege of traveling to Puerto Rico and playing on the Coast to Coast Baseball team.
In my past high school seasons, I have received awards in All-Conference, All-District and All-State. Receiving these awards has given me the drive to be a better player. I give it my all before, during and after a game, first one on the field and last one to leave. In the offseason, I am continually training to improve my game and gain speed for the upcoming season and ultimately college baseball. I understand sacrifice and hard work; and, if given the opportunity, I will make every effort to meet my coaches’ expectations.
It is important to me to be an exceptional leader and show good judgment to my teammates and coach. I attend church on a regular basis and work a part-time job. I also give lessons to some kids in our hometown Little League.
It is my desire to receive a college education and do what I love….play baseball.
