Taylor Lacy '24 Recruiting Profile

I am Senior at The Barstow School, an academically rigorous college prep school.  I have been playing baseball since I was 7 years old, and for most of that time have been taking year round catching and hitting lessons from a great coach and former player, Jon Pattin.  I play competitive club baseball in the summer and fall, and have played on my high school varsity team all four years.  I am a switch hitter and have played catcher, 3rd base, and outfield.  Last year I led the varsity  team in home runs and we made it to the class 3A State Final 4 tournament, losing in the semifinal game.  This season, as the primary catcher, I am looking forward to leading the team to another State tournament. We are extremely motivated to bring home the championship.

Outside of school and sports, I have been active in Boy Scouts.  This has been a good influence on my understanding of leadership and the importance of character in everything I do.  I am an Eagle Scout, and a Hard Way Warrior in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say, an honor scouting program at H. Roe Bartle Scout Camp.

I love the baseball culture and the camaraderie of a competitive team.  I am looking for a college or university in which I can succeed academically and continue playing baseball.
