Quentin Platt '21 Recruiting Profile

I started playing baseball when I was just 5 years old.  My dad always helped coach when I was young, and he always told me that he hoped some day,  that my youth baseball experiences would make me want to be involved in my own kids sports.  I was always the smallest kid on my team.  My dad assured me that I'd catch up at some point,  but I knew I'd have to work harder than everyone else to compete.  I asked my dad to hit me grounders and fly balls every chance I got,  and whenever he was available,  he'd take me to the cages.   I've learned that dedication and perseverance can overcome pretty much any obstacle to my dreams.  It's been my dream to play college baseball.  I want to be able to attain a degree in Biological Science and eventually a masters degree, and help my college team to win a championship., while representing my college baseball program with professionalism,  hard work,  and a never quit attitude.    I feel like my leadership skills, motivational skills, and of course, my baseball skills will allow me to do that.  I've always been able to motivate my teammates to work hard and work out with me, even if there are other things they might want to do instead.    After my baseball career is over, I hope to give back by coaching youth baseball.
