Greetings! My name is Beau-Hunter Warren. I am 15 years old and from Portageville, Missouri. I am writing to you because of my interest in playing college baseball. I play on my high school team and I consider myself an asset to any team. I realize I am from a very small town in Missouri, but I have a dream and that dream is to play for you! I realize you are very busy and your time is precious, but I will do what it takes to reach my goal!
Just to tell you a little bit about myself; I am a short stop, pitcher, third baseman, second baseman, and any position in the outfield. I can play in any position you put me in. I have grown up playing ball and absolutely LOVE it. I have played for various travel ball teams, the SEMO War Eagles (for 6 years) and the Misfits (for 1 year) . As a SEMO War Eagles, we won many USSSA tournaments in Missouri, Mississippi, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Kentucky, as well as, the State Tournament in Missouri, along with the 12U AA World Series. I was the number 1 pitcher for our team with a ERA of around 1.4. I also played shortstop, while not pitching, with few errors. After winning the World Series, I was named the MVP of the tournament after pitching a near no-hitter.
I have played for our school’s Junior High Baseball Program, under Coach Steve Rogers. I was a top pitcher in our rotation and short stop. Our team won our Bootheel Conference Tournament in 2019. Unfortunately, Covid-19 hit and we were unable to have our season last year, but I continued to work and stay sharp.
I have trained at Balls and Strikes in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, with Coach Todd Pennington and his excellent staff for the past nearly 10 years. I have worked with Coach Todd on my pitching in particular. Right now, I have a fastball of 80, a change up, and curveball (that I have just started throwing this year). I will be playing for the Missouri Bulls out of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, this season.
As a student, I am focused on excellence in the classroom, as well as, on the field. I have a 4.0 GPA, am number 1 in my class, and plan to pursue a career in pharmacy or in the medical field. I am excellent at budgeting my time for homework, projects, and studying. I have also competed in USA swimming and won many awards for myself and my team. I know how many hours along with both mental and physical toughness are needed for training and success. I am also a wide receiver for our school’s junior high and high school football team. (If it’s thrown in my direction…I WILL make a play, as in baseball, as well.) I believe in working hard, training harder, and mental toughness, and sacrifice are needed in order to succeed, but above all, faith in myself, my team, my coaches, and God. I will do what it takes in order for our team and it’s mission to succeed in accomplishing it’s goals.
My dream has always been to play for a university baseball team. I dreamed of playing on a college field. It’s the Field of Dreams to me!
I hope you are able to see me play one day. Various accomplishments are available on the web by searching the SEMO War Eagles, the Sikeston Standard Democrat, and SEMO Ball. I realize this is very early to contact you, but I am dedicated to my goal.
Thank you so much for taking your time to read this and I look forward to hearing back from you in the near future.
