Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Blake Rehtus and I'm a 2022 graduate at Kearney High School.
I've been playing travel baseball since I was 9 years old, both in Nebraska and in Ohio. While I was born in Nebraska, my family relocated to Ohio when I was starting 6th grade and we stayed through my Freshman year. Since then, I've been playing for Kearney High School in the Spring, the Kearney Legion teams in the summer and Central Nebraska Baseball Academy in the Fall.
I'm currently looking for a college where I can pursue my academic interests in either Engineering or Medicine while continuing to grow as a baseball player. I've always enjoyed being part of a team and enjoy being a positive influence on my teammates through a positive attitude and strong work ethic. I'm looking for a program that can continue to develop my pitching abilities in both the physical part of the game and also my mental approach to leverage my pitches more effectively. I'm excited for a college coach to help me grow and fulfill my full potential to become a long term starting pitcher in the program.
