Andrew Maxwell '21 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Andrew Maxwell.  I am currently a Senior at Silverado High School in Las Vegas, Nevada. I am 6'0" and 165 pounds. I primarily play shortstop, although I also play everywhere else on the infield and outfield, as well as pitch. I love the game of baseball, and I have been playing it since I was four years old. I have had the opportunity to play under some great coaches, and that experience has helped me further my game and become the player I am today. I am taking all Honors and AP core classes, and I have a weighted GPA of 4.3. School and baseball take up the majority of my time. In college I would be interested in majoring in either Communications or Education. In High School so far, I was a starter on Varsity as a Freshman. Shortstop was taken by an All American senior, so I played outfield that year, and batted second in the order. My Sophomore year, I took over the job at Shortstop for the Varsity team, and batted third in the order. I had a Batting Average of .400 (40/100), and was honored with being named as a First Team All Region Middle Infielder as a Sophomore. The summer after that, I improved even more, and batted .524 (33/63) while improving my power numbers immensely as well. Not having a Junior season due to COVID-19 is definitely not ideal, because I was really looking forward to that season, but it gives me more time to get stronger and faster, and that is what I'm committing myself to doing while this break is still current. I have always been described as a very coachable player, who is able to get the job done on and off the field, and whatever challenges come my way, I will attack it from all angles with passion and a determined mindset.
