Tyler Matthews '18 Recruiting Profile

The biggest accomplishment of my baseball career was when i was in Middle school and i decided i finally wanted to commit to playing baseball. My friends around me at the time made me feel like i fit as a baseball player. This made me love the sport for what it was, have fun with it, and become a young man. Within my first two years of playing, i learned my identity for high school. My freshman year of high school i was in Colorado and later at the end of that year, moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. My first year in Nevada, i did not play baseball due to the passing of my older sister Whitney. Her passing is what motivates me everyday to do my best in everything from my decisions to playing the game. Although i have had many great things happen to me since playing, I've always found a way to improve as a human through my respect for the game!

    Moving with my dad in Las Vegas, Nevada was probably the biggest obstacle that i had to overcome other than my sister's passing due to needing to find my fit at a new school and a new team.  In college, i would love to study Marketing as a major and business management as a minor due to my ability to be a leader and the fact that i want to own my own business when i get out of college. Playing baseball in college would be a blessing!
