Benett Sceviour '27 Recruiting Profile

I started playing baseball when I was four years old. I am the son of two serving military members, which means we move around a lot. The two constants in my life have always been family and baseball.  I’ve played at various levels across three provinces (states). Currently I play for my high school team and the Fredericton Royals. By moving around a lot, it means I’ve had to repeatedly prove my worth to each team and coach, which has made me a better and more knowledgeable player.

This year I've started working with a stenght coach and a personal hitting and pitching coach.

The thing I love about baseball is that your individual actions contribute to the team’s success. That you can’t avoid having to step up and do your part. As a catcher and first basemen, I enjoy the challenge these positions offer and that the team relies on my knowledge of the game to make successful plays.

I want to play baseball at the highest level for as long as I can. Education is very important to me and my family. I want to combine my love of baseball and high academic success.

I love science, for a similar reason to why I love baseball. That your individual contribution leads to the team’s success. The better scientist I can be, the stronger the field of science becomes.

Outside of baseball, I play video games with my friends online and enjoy rap music.  I also play on my high school Rugby 🏉 team.

I promise to give everything I have in order to be the best baseball player I can, I will always support and uplift my team members to reach their full potential.

I am looking forward to playing for a team where I will continue to grow, improve my knowledge of the sport and be expected to commit to the team ethos both on and off the field.
