Dalton Campbell '12 Recruiting Profile

Timing is everything! I have had the time to mature and become who I am today in both atheltics and academics. I've gained so much experience from playing on high school varsity teams that don't have winning seasons, but do have winning attitudes and sportsmanship. The first skill I learned to become a leader on the field was to listen. Not only listen to my coach but also the team players. Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses and a leader tries to use everyone's strengths to help the team grow as a whole. One of my goals this season is to put forth as much dedication to my studies as I do my athletics. I have always worked hard on the field, but it didnt come natural for me in the classroom. I believe that if you have the quality to be a leader both on the field and in the classroom, and the confidence to believe in yourself then you have everything. As a junior that plays for a class M school its 10% physical and 90% mental to succeed both academically and athletically. I am 6'0 -175lbs average student that has the heart and desire to play baseball that the college level. I believe that I have the ability and work ethic to succeed in both areas if given the opportunity. I have played on teams that travel and competed at the highest level with a winning success. I have also had the disappointment of playing a team that never felt the victory of winning. Trying to find the happy medium as my greatest challenge. Trying to appreciate that the level of talent on both teams were not the same nor was the level of deication among the players. I will be the second child in my family to attend college. My parents plan on applying for financial aid to assist me to further my education. It is my plan to attend a college/university that can offer me to be a part of its baseball program. If this opportunity presents itself on the east/west coast of the country I will gladly acknowlege the offer.
