Personal Statement
One of the many things that influenced me to start playing baseball is my father. He changed my perspective on the game in second grade, and caused me to focus very hard on becoming better at it each day. I used to hope for, and thought when I was grew up, I could be fortunate enough to become a basketball player, as great as that would be, and it would be tremendous, I now know, that with regard to skill and love of, pursuing baseball is truly where my heart has lead me. I have overcome many different obstacles throughout my journey. One being the loss of some very close family members and friends. The game of baseball has helped me find a place where those obstacles do not exist and it has really helped me learn who I am. It has helped me recognize what hard work and dedication mean, and what practicing both does for an individual. On the field I can be extremely competitive, and hardworking. I care for, and respect my teammates, and seek out ways to bond with them In order to create a situation so that the team can stand as single unit capable of competing at the highest of levels. Off of the field I spend most of my time hanging out with friends, and enjoying the time I spend with my three younger siblings. The sport has helped me seek friends that have similar characteristics to mine and have goals that directly relate to how hard one is willing to work to achieve said goals
To finish off my personal statement I would like to explain that I have very high academic goals such as finishing with at least a 3.8 grade point average. As for college I haven't decided what I would like to major in yet, I'm considering something finance related, or a degree that falls within the medical family.
