My name is Ryan Reilly, class of 2017 and I attend Union Catholic Regional High School in Scotch Plains, New Jersey. I can play 2B, SS, as well as 3B in the infield. My abilities are not limited to the infield, as I see myself as a strong utility player that can also range the outfield with great success when needed. As a sophomore, I played my first season on Varsity. I saw a generous amount of time at 3B as well as some time at 2B. As a young team, we won a share in the Union County Conference's Championship title. This year, I was a starter at 2B. Our team went 14-11, and 5-3 in conference play, placing us second in the conference. I batted .308 and had a .928 fielding percentage. We look forward to next year, being able to build off of this season, being a team with more experience.
Personally, I am the hardest worker that I know. The failures in my past have fueled me to work harder and strive for success. Hard work and dedication proves successful, as I observed many successes in several facets of my life. These achievements have come academically, athletically, and personally.
I have been playing baseball at a high level for as long as I can remember. I have a deep passion for the sport and will do whatever it takes to be part of the game at the next level. I am always looking to upgrade my skills and abilities in an effort to be the best version of myself that is attainable. During my life, school and sports have always been two things that I have excelled in. I have found time management and organization are critical to success in any aspect of life, especially when striving to be successful in two aspects at the same time. This formula has paid off for me.
