Benjamin Cuccolo '21 Recruiting Profile

My name is Benjamin Cuccolo and my main goal is to play baseball at the next level and make some sort of impact on the team I play for. I hope to major in mathematics, preferably statistics, along with economics. As a young player I tried out for my first travel team and was told that I was not yet ready to play at that level. This rejection instilled the work ethic I carry with me today. It taught me that to make a team you need to work as hard as possible and continue to work even harder after you’ve made the team. I strived to be the best player on every team I played for and although I may not have achieved this goal every time, it pushed me to get better each and every day. My goal ever since I started playing baseball seriously has been to play baseball at the collegiate level. Along with a strong work ethic on the field, I take my academics very seriously and have strived for excellence as a student athlete. I have been told by coaches past and present that I am a very coachable player, meaning I take constructive criticism and am able to listen to different points of view. I feel this skill has helped me hone my play on the field and performance in the classroom. I have been very dedicated to finding schools that are both athletically and academically challenging. I would prefer to stay in the North east for college but I am certainly open to going beyond that if the opportunity presents itself. Ultimately I want to find the right fit for me athletically and academically regardless of division or size.
