I am a driven athlete with outstanding performance on the field as well as within the classroom. My passion for the game of baseball is proven by my strong work ethic. The two goals I have aspired to achieve throughout my life are to play a high level of collegiate baseball and to establish a successful career as a physician practicing medicine.
I have played baseball for the past 13 years of my life. I am motivated by the opportunity to compete within the game and continuously strive to perfect my skills by dedicating extensive time to train. I have played competitive travel baseball since the age of 9. I have always been a part of winning teams. My little league team took the New Mexico state championship three years in a row, and I had the opportunity to pitch on ESPN during the Southwest Regional Tournament in Waco. One of the most challenging situations I faced was when I broke my arm at the age of 13 and had to take a year off from baseball to recover; I realized how much I valued the game of baseball in my life. This motivated me to work hard to return as an even stronger player. As a freshman, I lettered for varsity, and my high school team won the state championship, which was only the third State Championship over the school’s history. I have won multiple state championships playing with my club team, received numerous awards, and faced a high level of competition while traveling across the country. I have developed a diverse set of skills and proven talent within multiple positions including pitching, catching, outfield and infield. Throughout high school, I have achieved Dean’s List within an honor’s curriculum, including dual-enrollment college courses, competed with the Hope Christian High School baseball team as well as the Albuquerque Baseball Academy competitive travel team while continuously putting in extra time in the cage, gym, and field. I have been participating in a drive line program to further develop my pitching skills. Given my progress within the program and the fact that I am not using my legs as much as I should be to pitch, my pitching coach anticipates that I should continue to gain velocity, once I learn to use my lower half better. I have developed excellent time management skills and have the drive to win which will help me to succeed at the next level. I am an ambitious and dedicated team player ready to give my all to compete and contribute to a winning record with a successful collegiate team within a strong academic environment.
