Jonas Buckles '21 Recruiting Profile

I have loved and played baseball as long as I can remember. My parents tell me that I would do nothing else since I got my first T-Ball set at two years old. My earliest memory is in my backyard with my dad pitching to me and pretending my mom and brother were the crowd in the stands cheering me on. Since then, baseball has taught me many things such as dedication, focus, patience, hustle, leadership, and the importance of putting my team before myself. In the summer of 2019 I was picked to be the Chief Navigator of an Outward Bound kayaking trip through the shipping channels of the Puget Sound. I found that the skills I have honed in baseball helped me safely lead my peers.

I have a strong desire to study sports medicine and anatomy/physiology at the college level. My baseball experience has taught me how important overall physical health and training are to athlete performance. I want to play baseball competitively as long as I can and for it to be a part of my college life. I am confident that the skills I have developed through baseball will make me a good teammate and leader in your program.
